ROKETSAN and TÜBİTAK have signed a deal to cooperate on the development of a ramjet engine for a supersonic anti-ship missile during the IDEF25 exhibition.

The cooperation covers the development of a liquid fuel ramjet engine, like the one used in the GÖKHAN BVRAAM of TÜBİTAK SAGE, for a supersonic anti-ship missile.

The missile will be the first supersonic anti-ship missile to be developed in Turkiye. Current missiles with anti-ship capabilities include ATMACA, SOM-J, and ÇAKIR, which are all subsonic.

There is no information regarding the launch platform, as it can be either aircraft or warships.

During the IDEF 2025 International military Industry Fair in Istanbul, HAVELSAN and Karel Europe, a Romanian firm that is a subsidiary of Turkish electronics and military company Karel, inked a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The deal is mostly about working together to come up with better, more integrated solutions for Romania's military sector.

Die MK 84 GAZAP ist die größte in der Türkei hergestellte Bombe und zählt zu den größten nicht-nuklearen Bomben überhaupt.


Die GBU-43/B Massive Ordnance Air Blast (MOAB) wird oft auch als "Mother of all Bombs" (Mutter aller Bomben) bezeichnet. Die thermobarische Bombe, auch Vakuumbombe genannt, enthält 8,5 Tonnen Sprengstoff, das mit dem Äquivalent von 11 Tonnen TNT explodiert.

Nun wurden erstmals Bilder von einer türkischen Vakuumbombe öffentlich. Die Bombe mit dem Namen MK 84 "GAZAP" (Zorn) soll 2.000 Pfund wiegen (gut 900 kg) und damit die größte in der Türkei hergestellte Bombe sein.

Turkey has made its most forceful statement yet in weapons development. Just days after debuting its hypersonic Tayfun Block 4 missile, Ankara unveiled two major bombs—Gazap and NEB-2 Ghost—at the 17th International Defence Industry Fair (IDEF) 2025 in Istanbul.

These weapons, both weighing 970 kilogrammes, mark Turkey's strongest non-nuclear capabilities to date. Their public reveal took place at an event organised by KFA Fairs, supported by Turkey’s Defence Industries Secretariat and the Turkish Armed Forces Foundation. The announcements were first reported by TRT Global and Anadolu Agency.

Gazap: A new benchmark in fragmentation bombs
The Gazap bomb, which means Wrath in Turkish, isn’t built to just cause damage—it’s built to overwhelm. It’s a fragmentation bomb designed for wide-area effect, but unlike traditional versions, it deploys its destruction with surgical precision.



According to Nilufer Kuzulu, who led the design team, “Unlike its conventional counterparts, it features a fragment-based structure with 10,000 particles. These fragments disperse within a one-kilometre radius upon detonation.”

ASSAN has unveiled its 1000 hp serial hybrid powerpack for armoured vehicles during the IDEF25 international defence exhibition, with its components.

ASSAN has become a new player in the hybridisation of military vehicles with its 1000 hp hybrid powerpack.

The serial hybrid powerpack is made for tracked vehicles, as it can be understood from the tracks presented alongside the engine, transmission, and batteries.

The powerpack allows for a maximum speed of 67 km/h and a 0-32 km/h acceleration time of less than seven seconds at full load. Thanks to the higher efficiency, a range of more than 600 km is possible. The batteries can be charged in less than 30 minutes.

1000 hp can be considered suitable for tracked vehicle applications such as heavy IFVs, APCs, and SPGs.

Turkish MoD R&D Centre displayed the ramjet-powered 155 mm artillery shell for even longer ranges compared to rocket-assisted shells at the IDEF25 exhibition.

After rocket-assisted shells, Turkiye is moving to ramjet-powered shells, following several other countries to provide the gun artillery with stand-off ranges. Turkish MoD R&D Centre has unveiled the project for a 155 mm ramjet-powered (or rather assisted) round to reach a range of 130 km, far beyond the in-use rocket-assisted shells.

The ramjet-powered shell was seen to include a second fin set at the front, suggesting GPS/GNSS guidance.

ROKETSAN’s CİRİT laser-guided missile, fired from the PUSU weapon system mounted on a pickup, hit the target UAV that simulated a generic kamikaze UAV threat.
ROKETSAN shared the test video of the reworked PUSU weapon system not too long after IDEF25. The video features the demonstration of the long-serving CİRİT 70 mm laser-guided missile against UAVs as an alternative anti-air option.
In the test, a kamikaze UAV that resembles the Shaheed-136/Geran-2 in form was used. After onboard AESA radars detected the target, it was hit by the CİRİT missile with designation done by the onboard gimbal EO/IR.
Considering the demonstration, the CİRİT in the test might have used a laser proximity fuse for better chances at interception. Outside of the guidance method not being purpose-built for air defence applications, the warhead of CİRİT could be considered lethal enough for fragile threats like UAVs.
The new configuration of PUSU was unveiled during the first day parade of the IDEF25 defence exhibition alongside the new configuration of the BURÇ air defence system.
