Zitat:L3Harris Technologies awarded systems integration contract for US Navy Frigate program

L3Harris is a member of the Fincantieri FFG team and will provide integrated systems that include the electric and propulsion systems, bridge and navigation systems, and aviation integration services. The diversified capabilities that L3Harris delivers on the Constellation-class Frigate program will distribute the power and propulsion needed to meet the U.S. Navy’s mission requirements throughout the world.

The Navy recently awarded a contract to Fincantieri to design and build the FFG, the Navy’s first new build in more than a decade. L3Harris will support Fincantieri at its Marinette, Wisconsin shipyard, where it will build the frigate based on the company’s Italian FREMM multi-mission frigate.

The Constellation-Class frigate FFG 62 will have a length of 151.8 m, a draft of 5.5 m, a beam of 19.7 m, and an LS displacement of 6,016 tons. The ship will be powered by a diesel-electric and gas (CODLAG) propulsion system including one gas turbine, two electric motors, 4 ship service Diesel generators, and one auxiliary propulsion system. [...]

The Constellation-Class FFG 62 will be armed with one Mk 110 57mm naval gun, 32 Mk 41 VLS (Vertical Launching System), 16 NSM Naval Strike anti-ship Missiles, one Mk 49 RAM surface-to-air missile system, and four Mk 53 MOD 9 DLSs (Decoy Launching Systems).
