TAF Receives Some Upgraded M60T MBT After Tests
Turkish Defence Ministry announced acceptance tests for some modernised M60T MBTs had been conducted.
Turkish Defence Ministry organised the weekly press briefing at the Atış Serbest Exercise. The ministry announced that the acceptance tests for some modernised M60T MBTs had been conducted.
TAF has modernised its M60T MBTs under the TİYK programme, which also covers the modernisation of the Leopard 2A4 MBTs.
The upgraded M60T tanks have reworked add-on armour, VOLKAN-M fire control system, new seats and new C2 systems.
Aselsan’s VOLKAN-M fire control system, replacing the foreign one, will contribute to the main gun’s accuracy and effective firing range.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz arrived in Istanbul to meet Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and discuss the future of bilateral relations.
Two leaders last met in New York at the 79th United Nations General Assembly in September and are expected to discuss the Ukrainian war, İsrail —Gaza war, migration, EU—Turkiye relations, and bilateral political relations. Turkiye’s desire to acquire Eurofighter jets will be the turning point of the meetings. It is known that the prelimany technical talks have already started in September.

Mit Siper Product-1 verfügt die Türkei über ein Langstrecken Flugabwehrsystem aus eigener Entwicklung welches sich im Dienst der eigenen Streitkräfte befindet. Die Reichweite der Siper Product-1 beträgt 100 km Product-2 soll eine Reichweite von 150 km haben.

SİPER Product-1 Long Range AD System Enters Inventory
Secretary of Turkish Defence Industries (SSB) Haluk Görgün has announced that the SİPER Product-1 Long Range air defence system has entered the inventory.

Following the deal signed for SİPER Product-1's serial production on December 15th, 2023, the system has entered the inventory with its components.

Haluk Görgün noted that developing the SİPER Product-2 system with additional capabilities is ongoing as the Product-1 is being introduced.

TUSAŞ delivered three GÖKBEY Multirole Utility Helicopters to the Gendarmerie General Command.

GÖKBEY, Turkiye's first original helicopter designed by Turkish Aerospace, was delivered to the Gendarmerie General Command with a ceremony attended by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

TUSAŞ developed the helicopter with the experience and capabilities it gained at the T129 Atak helicopter programme. Critical systems such as gearbox, rotor, landing gear, and structural and avionics systems are wholly designed and manufactured domestically.

Turkish Army Practices Artillery-UAV Teaming
In a recent training, the Turkish Army used various artillery pieces with cueing from UAVs.

As part of the operational readiness inspections, Land Forces; “Artillery Fire and UAV and Artillery Fire Regulation Training” was conducted by the 102nd Artillery Regiment Command.

T-155 Fırtına 155 mm and M110A2 203 mm SPGs were present in the training.

Non-line-of-sight observation/ranging with UAVs has become a point of interest for the armies since the Russo-Ukrainian War. The UAVs are utilised to increase the accuracy of artillery guns, rockets, and even automatic grenade launchers by providing real-time position information.

While the types of UAVs used haven’t been disclosed, HAVELSAN’s BAHA and Baykar Kalkan VTOL UAVs are among the possibilities.

Meteksan Defence informed through social media that it delivered its MERT Electronic Attack System to the Turkish Armed Forces in 2024.
The MERT Electronic Attack System was designed and developed as an Electronic Attack (ET) system with portable features that can instantly monitor the entire frequency band it covers. It has a reactive jamming architecture in the entire band, supports new-generation hybrid jamming techniques that support automatic operating modes, can apply new-generation smart attack techniques and digital jamming waveforms according to the target, and prevents the communication of target elements from a distance while providing friendly frequency protection.
The portable system, developed to meet different operational needs, can be easily installed in a fixed configuration on the mast or used mobile by being integrated into the vehicle.
The MERT system was developed to be effective against future threats by simultaneously supporting the entire frequency band with high-tech frequency hopping military radios, navigation systems, mobile networks, drone control bands, and amateur radio bands, in addition to today's current targets.

Şendir announced the latest developments with the following statement: “The latest information from the United Kingdom shows that another very difficult obstacle has been overcome. Ministry of Defence stated that ASELSAN delivered the Electronic Warfare System to the TAF. The new deliveries of the PUHU-3LT system were made to the army.
According to the information provided by the Ministry of National Defence, ASELSAN delivered the Electronic Warfare System to the Turkish Armed Forces (TAF). The new deliveries of the PUHU-3LT system were made to the Land Forces Command.

According to the statement made by the Press Advisor of the Ministry of National Defence, Admiral Zeki Aktürk, at the weekly press briefing, “MİLKED” has been added to the Turkish Armed Forces (TAF) inventory. Regarding the subject, ASELSAN General Manager Ahmet Akyol said on social media: “May our PUHU 3-LT Electronic Support Systems (MİLKED), the ACVs … bring good luck to our heroic soldiers.”

PUHU 3-LT (Mobile V/UHF Electronic Support System) was developed to provide electronic support against target V/UHF communications. The System detects and tracks target communications, monitors and analyzes signals, and estimates signal direction and location with algorithms. PUHU-3 LT, PUHU-1, and PUHU-2 from the PUHU family are also in the TSK inventory.

DASAL, a subsidiary of Altınay Savunma Group, has integrated the 75 kg PUHU C75 cargo drone for the Turkish Armed Forces. The drone will be in service soon.

DASAL, a drone solutions specialist within Altınay Savunma Group, has announced the imminent integration of the PUHU C75 cargo drone, which has a payload capacity of 75 kg.


Burak Mercan, CEO of Altınay Savunma Teknolojileri, has spoken to Anadolu News Agency and clarified that DASAL, founded in 2019 in partnership with ASELSAN, is now a wholly-owned subsidiary of Altınay. DASAL focuses on a range of innovative products, including light and heavy drones, and carries out six major projects in parallel.
In addition, the FALCON-DAD anti-drone project and drones mounted on armoured vehicles are in the final stages of development and are expected to enter service in 2025. These solutions aim to respond to airborne threats and improve the security of military convoys.

MSB has announced that the HİSAR-O Medium Altitude Air Defence Missile System will be included in the Turkish Armed Forces’ inventory.

The announcement was made during the Ministry’s weekly press briefing by Rear Admiral Zeki Aktürk, Press and Public Relations Counsellor and Ministry Spokesperson.

In the October 2024 issue (No. 656) of the Turkish Naval Forces Magazine (Deniz Kuvvetleri Dergisi), an article titled “The Impact of Nuclear-Powered Submarines on the Theatre of War” examined the historical and global applications of nuclear submarines. Of particular interest to Turkiye was the section on Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) under the subheading “The Development of Nuclear Energy and Small Modular Reactors”.


The article highlighted the strategic advantage for nations developing SMR technology, noting that such advancements could position these countries as leaders in the energy market. Turkiye was mentioned as committed to R&D efforts in SMR development, particularly focusing on Molten Salt Reactors. While this commitment is noteworthy, it falls short of being a concrete indication of an interest in nuclear-powered submarines.

ASLAN and ZMA-X UGVs developed by ASELSAN participated in the Kars Winter Exercise 2025, which the Turkish Army conducted in harsh climate conditions.

ASELSAN shared images of the two UGVs used in the Kars Winter Exercise, conducted at sub-zero temperatures.

ASLAN is ASELSAN’s Medium-1 class UGV with an electrical drive for various applications. These include patrol, fire support for troopers, and logistics support. The UGV can be fitted with SARP-L RCWS and/or METE 40 mm laser-guided missiles for combat duties. The sensors include fixed cameras, LIDAR, and mast-mounted EO/IR.

New Weapons and Systems Tested in Winter Exercise 2025
The Turkish Armed Forces conducted Winter Exercise 2025 in Kars to evaluate operational readiness under harsh winter conditions. The exercise featured various newly developed indigenous weapons and systems.
The tested equipment were the NEFER turret-equipped Armoured Combat Vehicle, the Lightweight Infantry Rifle (MPT-76), the 5.56mm Light Machine Gun, and the Dragoneye-2 Thermal Camera.
Additionally, the exercise included the Cage-Protected Mini UAV, BOYGA Rotary-Wing UAV, and the ASLAN-3 and BARKAN Unmanned Ground Vehicles (UGVs).
The MİLKED-3A3 Electronic Support System and UMA Reconnaissance and Surveillance System were deployed in the electronic warfare domain.

SSB Awards FNSS Contract for 8x8 and 6x6 Armoured Vehicles
Turkish Secretariat of Defence Industries (SSB) awarded New Generation Armoured Vehicles (NGAV) orders to FNSS for Turkish Land Forces (TLF). The order includes serial production of 6x6 and 8x8 New Generation PARS ALPHA Armoured Vehicle configurations for the TLF Mechanised Armoured Units. In the program’s first phase, FNSS will deliver PARS ALPHA 8x8 Anti-Armour Squad and Armoured Recovery variants. In the scope of the program, FNSS will also produce 6x6 variants. PARS ALPHA 6x6 command post variants will be configured with advanced mission equipment.

FNSS PARS ALPHA 8x8 prototype successfully emerged from an intensive competition environment. The program was awarded after comprehensive field tests by SSB and Turkish MOD.
