CIWS statt MLR & RAM ;-)

Honestly your plan looks like a Z-Plan for the German Navy. In addition you are promoting BAE systems. Biggest joke however is QE variant as successor of CdG. It‘s like to propose that Germany replace the Leopard 2 with the Challenger.
It‘s fantasy at it‘s best

It has only to do with geopolitical realities of today and tomorrow. Upcoming China, who threatens our EUropean strategic interests globally. Like strategic sea lanes and snoke point. Which also Germany has to answer, militarily. As main EUropean and global power she cannot sit back and only enjoy the economic wealth (for as long as it lasts).

The QE-variant was seriously considered by the French Navy as 2nd carrier, designed and built by the French. It is just an example(!!) in this vision, besides to get some European standardisation and learn from the QE experiences, which look likes a good basic design. Also the French have not yet presented their successor for the CdG. When they do that will be the choice for Germany too.

I don't work with fantasies, I work with realities, with which of course you can completely disagree. But I see no reason why Germany cannot get naval capabilities smaller countries like France, UK, Italy or Spain has. Also amphibious...2 JSS...2 LHD...

CdG is a CVN with cats and straps. There is no way to adapt the QE design like this. The consideration by the French was at the early stage of the design of the QE's.

You can't forbid a country something for decades and expect that it jump on after the bann had been removed

This was my direction...https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/French_aircraft_carrier_PA2. But when you sure that will not work now I will use the latest French design. It is just as example! We only know that the FCAS will be the fighter plane on board.

I think we've waited long enough. WW2 was 75 years ago! We have to be fast now, given the geopolitical developments. But in my alternative vision also step by step! First the German JSS's, then (small) LHD's and only around 2040 aircraft carriers. Enough time imo to get used to it Cool

I didn't talk about WW2, I talked about the restrictions on the German Navy from 1955 till 1990 regarding ship types, ship size and area of operation

I was aware of that. As a result of WW2. But that is again almost 20 years ago. The Chinese build the equivalent of the German Navy every few years. Germany please wake up Exclamation

Also wenn wir China als Maßstab nehmen sollen, für was ?
Wirtschaftlich
Energiepolitisch ?
