Zitat:Swiftships ContractQuelle: press release US MoD
The Egyptian government has ordered six 82-foot patrol craft for its Coast Guard. The contract is partially funded under the US Foreign Military Sales (FMS) programme. Construction on the first unit began in November and future deliveries will begin with three units transferred in September 2005, with the final three to be delivered in January 2006. Weapons provisions will apparently be determined by the Egyptians and may be fitted when delivered and not by Swiftships. A 25-30mm cannon is to be provisional armament, in a stern mount, and there will be either a 12.5, or smaller weapon, on a bow pedestal mount. According to the builder, a 15-year minimum life span is required under the contract.
