WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Lockheed Martin Corp. <LMT.N> and Northrop Grumman Corp. <NOC.N> would bear the brunt of proposed cuts in U.S. weapons purchases totaling $30 billion over the next six years, according to the summary from a Pentagon budget document made available to Reuters Monday.

Lockheed's radar-evading F/A-22 Raptor, meant to be the world's top-performing fighter jet, would end production in 2008, said InsideDefense.com, which provided a summary page from the budget memo. The Air Force would get 180 aircraft, down from the 277 it had sought.

In a move that surprised analysts, the Pentagon also would wind up production in 2006 of Lockheed's C-130J cargo plane, saving $4.9 billion.

Also on the chopping block was Lockheed's Joint Common Missile, saving $2.3 billion that had been budgeted to wrap up development and buy 2,134 missiles, said InsideDefense.com. On the plus side for Lockheed, its $200 billion-plus F-35 Joint Strike Fighter appeared to have dodged cuts for now.

Los Angeles-based Northrop Grumman would also lose big if proposed cuts in Navy programs pass Congress. The Pentagon would shelve plans to buy two Virginia-class submarines a year from fiscal 2009 to 2011, saving $5.3 billion.

Instead, it would buy only one a year through the six-year period, also hurting General Dynamics Corp. <GD.N>, which splits the production.

The proposal would curtail plans for Northrop's next- generation destroyer DD(X) and San Antonio-class LPD-17 big deck amphibious ships.

Boeing and a joint venture partner, Textron Inc. <TXT.N>, would also lose $1.2 billion in their tiltrotor V-22 Osprey aircraft program. The project would be reduced by 22 aircraft through 2009, according to the budget document.

Also F/A-22 runter, DDX, LPD und SSN runter, weitere C-130J ab 2006 gestrichen, Osprey ebenfalls runter, BMD "restrukturiert" (was auch immer das heissen soll).
