MOSCOW. Dec 25 (Interfax) - Two Il-76 cargo planes belonging to the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry, which took off from the Ramenskoye airfield outside Moscow to carry humanitarian aid to Iraq on Saturday morning, have landed at the Baghdad airport.
Another two Emergency Situations Ministry planes are scheduled to fly to Baghdad on December 28.
Russia is delivering the humanitarian aid for Iraqi people under a government directive.
Viktor Beltsov, an advisor to the emergency situations minister, earlier told Interfax that the four planes would carry 200 tents capable of accommodating 30 or 10 people each, 6,000 blankets, 380 heaters, 1,500 lighting appliances, and 23.5 tonnes of medicines, medical equipment, and antiseptics.
In addition, the planes will carry 2 tonnes of Russian-language books for the Baghdad university.
