Sistani urges turnout in election

Najaf, Oct 12 - Ayatollah Ali Sistani, in a statement issued by his office called on all Iraqi eligible people to participate in the January presiedential election.

Ayatollah Sistani in his statement asked his representatives, religious authorities and trusted persons to organize committees in their local areas to register the name of voters to facilitate participation of the Iraqi people in the upcoming elections.

This statement have been published after people raised questions about the determination of high commissioner of Iraqi elections to register their names for participating in the upcoming elections.
