Founded in 2022 by Baykar Technology’s Selçuk Bayraktar, Fergani is positioning itself as Türkiye’s first private satellite manufacturer with a full design-to-orbit capability.
The new spacecraft follows the January 2025 launch of its FGN-100-D1 prototype, expanding the company’s low-Earth-orbit (LEO) test network.

Successful Launch From Florida
The 104-kilogram FGN-100-D2 lifted off at 08:09 TRT on 2 November 2025 from SpaceX’s SLC-40 pad at Cape Canaveral under the Bandwagon-4 rideshare mission.
Separation occurred 74 minutes later at 09:23 TRT, placing the satellite in a ~510-kilometer LEO trajectory.
Fergani confirmed initial telemetry shortly after deployment, signaling operational status.
Domestic Design and Green Propulsion
FGN-100-D2 integrates entirely indigenous avionics, software, structural design, and a green-propellant micro-thruster system developed by Fergani engineers.
The spacecraft will test telemetry, telecommand, navigation, and payload communications during an expected 5–7-year mission.
Operating at 7.6 km/s, it completes roughly 15 Earth orbits per day.

Türkiye’s OTV completes successful engine ignition in orbit TurDef
Türkiye’s first Orbital Transfer Vehicle (OTV), FGN-TUG-S01, developed indigenously by Fergani Space, has completed its most critical in-space manoeuvre. According to the company’s official press release, the vehicle ignited its hybrid rocket engine in orbit and executed a controlled transition to a higher elliptical orbit.
FGN-TUG-S01, developed by Fergani Space—founded by Baykar Chairman and CTO Selçuk Bayraktar—was launched aboard SpaceX’s Falcon 9 during the Transporter-15 rideshare mission on 28 November 2025 from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California. After completing in-orbit checks, the OTV carried out the ignition sequence central to its mission profile.

The second satellite of ASELSAN’s Space-Based Internet of Things (IoT) solution series successfully launched into space.
ASELSAN, which resolutely carries its high-tech expertise in the defense industry into the space domain, successfully launched LUNA-2—the second satellite in the series developed as part of its Space-Based Internet of Things (IoT) solution—on March 30, 2026, from California, USA, via SpaceX.
In the global transformation process shaped by the New Space age, ASELSAN continues to provide high added value to Türkiye’s space ecosystem through its national engineering power and indigenous system solutions. Ranging from satellite communication systems and mission payloads to ground control infrastructures and platform solutions, ASELSAN’s wide-reaching activities further strengthen its strategic position in this field every day.

Zitat:Fergani Space expands orbital footprint with successful launch of fifth experimental satellite

ASELSAN launches second space-based IoT satellite
Indigenously developed subsystems by Fergani Space launched to gain space heritage.
FGN-100-D3, the fifth experimental satellite in the series developed by Fergani Space, has successfully reached orbit. Launched via a Falcon 9 rocket on March 30 as part of the Transporter-16 mission, the 113 kg next-generation national satellite—equipped with communication and navigation capabilities—has settled into its target orbit at an altitude of 500–520 km.
Representing a significant advancement compared to Fergani’s previously launched satellites, FGN-100-D3 incorporates numerous technological innovations. The satellite features critical components developed entirely indigenously within Fergani, such as reaction wheels, magnetorquers, magnetometers, inertial measurement units (IMU), and global navigation satellite system (GNSS) receivers. In addition to these systems, the satellite also houses an artificial intelligence-supported computer for advanced missions. The in-space validation of these domestic systems and avionics equipment, thereby providing them with “space heritage,” is of paramount importance for Türkiye’s full independence in space technologies.
