Four oil reservoirs were set on fire.
A Ukrainian drone struck an oil storage depot in western Russia on Friday, causing a massive blaze, officials said, as Kyiv’s forces apparently extended their attacks on Russian soil ahead of the war’s two-year anniversary.
Four oil reservoirs with a total capacity of 6,000 cubic meters (1.6 million gallons) were set on fire when the drone reached Klintsy, a city of some 70,000 people located about 60 kilometers (40 miles) from the Ukrainian border, according to the local governor and state news agency Tass. [...]
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has vowed to hit more targets inside Russian border regions this year. Russia’s air defenses are concentrated in occupied regions of Ukraine, Kyiv officials say, leaving more distant targets inside Russia more vulnerable as Ukrainian forces develop longer-range drones.

Russia has continued to suffer high losses of equipment on the frontline in Ukraine, according to Kyiv's latest estimates.
In its update on Thursday, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said that over the previous day, Russia had lost 21 tanks, taking the total losses of the vehicles since the start of the invasion nearly 23 months ago to 6,147. The update also said that Russian forces had lost a further 38 armored personnel vehicles (APVs) in the previous 24 hours, taking the tally over the course of the war started by President Vladimir Putin to 11,410. [...]
The tracking website Oryx, which counts equipment losses on both sides, lists Russian tank losses at 2,623 as of Thursday although it uses open sources and video or photographic evidence to confirm these figures. It says "therefore, the amount of equipment destroyed is significantly higher than recorded here." [...]
Moscow has not updated its loss numbers since the 6,000 losses it revealed in September 2022. On New Year's Day, Ukraine's figures of Russian casualties since the start of the war totaled 360,010, putting Moscow's losses for last year at 253,290, a daily average throughout the year of 694.

A new counter-unmanned aerial system (C-UAS) known as Saniya, developed by Russian company 3MX, has been equipped on one of Russia's T-80BVM tanks. The system was seen onboard a Russian 1st Army Corps T-80BVM tank operating near Pervomayskoye, Ukraine in a video posted by the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation on Telegram on 14 January.
Saniya automatically detects and suppresses first person vehicles (FPVs) from ranges of up to 1.5 km and 1 km respectively. The system encompasses a passive detector, featuring two small vertical antennas, and a distinct suppressor, comprising eight approximately 0.5 m antennas (two vertical and six diagonal).
Saniya can be deployed to protect stationary positions or be operated on-the-move, enabled with added vibration pads to absorb shocks from armoured vehicles.
