Hezbollah Shoots Down Spy Drone in Western Iraq

Iraq's popular forces reported that Hezbollah fighters have brought down a hostile surveillance aircraft over the Southeastern Fallujah in Anbar Province. No further detail has yet been released on the incident. There has been no official confirmation of the report yet.

A former Pentagon official said the Israeli army was alarmed after the downing of its pilotless plane in Iraq and "put on hold all Hermes missions in regions where Iran or its allied forces are present".

Iran's ally, the Hezbollah Movement, has shot down several Israeli drones in Southern Lebanon in the last few years.

The former US military official, who asked to remain unnamed, reminded that Iran's forces or its technology and weapons systems are present in several countries across the region, and the repeated downing of the same model of drones has now become meaningful to Israeli army analysts

Zitat:'Iran trying to move Yakhont missiles and SA-22 Air Defense Systems to Hezbollah'

Iran is trying to transfer state-of the-art weaponry, including the SA-22 Air Defense System and the Yakhont anti-ship cruise missile, from military storehouses in Syria to Hezbollah, Foreign Ministry director-general Dore Gold told The Jerusalem Post on Thursday from Berlin.

If this type of activity has been going on for the last six months, Gold asked, “then what happens when the sanctions on Iran are lifted, and they get a cash bonus of up to $150 billion?”
