Eurocopter, a subsidiary of the European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company, said may 20 the Spanish government had chosen its NH90 military transport helicopter and has ordered 45 aircraft. [...]

An order from the Greek government for 20 NH90 helicopters which was announced in September 2003 was then valued at 657 million euros ($824.5 million) by Eurocopter, while an order for 20 NH90s from Oman in July 2004 reportedly had a value of 600-800 million euros.
A spokeswoman for the Spanish government said earlier May 20 that the government had approved a 2.5-billion-euro modernization package for the Spanish armed forces which included procurement of 45 NH90 helicopters.

Zitat:New Zealand Opts for NH90s

New Zealand has selected the NH90 to replace its air force's fleet of 14 aging UH-1 Iroquois helicopters. Defense Minister Mark Burton said officials are still finalizing details on the final cost, number of aircraft and delivery dates, but the government will spend up to NZ$550 million ($389 million) for both the NH90 and a light utility helicopter to replace the Bell OH-13 Sioux.

Air Vice-Marshal John Hamilton, chief of the Air Force, said the NH90's selection "will step us into the next generation of helicopter" and provide "huge performance gains over the Iroquois that will enable greater weights carried further and much improved night and poor weather capabilities." The Air Force must continue supporting the Iroquois fleet for several years until the NH90s enter service." New Zealand is still working on the selection of a helicopter to replace the Sioux.

Zitat:Australian Defence Force Signs Contract for New Army Helicopter

MARIGNANE, France --- Eurocopter welcomes the signature today in Canberra of a contract for 12 MRH90 to the benefit of the Australian Defence Force. The contract was signed between the Australian Defence Materiel Organisation and Australian Aerospace, a Eurocopter subsidiary.

The Multi-Role MRH90 Helicopter was selected by the Australian Ministry of Defence after an intensive international competition. The first helicopter will be delivered in 2007, with all aircraft expected by 2009.

Plans are underway to assemble 8 MRH90s at the Australian Aerospace facility in Brisbane, where the company is already assembling 18 Tiger Armed Reconnaissance Helicopters for the Australian Army.

Australian Aerospace Chief Executive, Joseph Saporito, said that this MRH90 contract will allow AA to inject more than 300 million AUD into Australian industry, including SMEs, making full use of the expertise and local capabilities developed in the frame of the ARH Tiger program.

“This translates into 150 highly-skilled Australian jobs.”

Mr. Saporito said local engineers will receive extensive training in Eurocopter’s center of excellence in Marignane, France. These engineers will provide a helicopter engineering base for export to the Pacific region.

a) billiger ist (20 mio.euro vs 30 mio.euro)
