Iran crowned at world RoboCup

London, July 6 (IranMania) - According to Iran's State News Agency (IRNA) Isfahan University of Technology was crowned at medium-sized league of the world RoboCup, which ended in Poland.

The Iranian football side comprising five18 kg robots stood top among 24 participating teams while Germany finished runner up and the Netherlands ranked third.

Hamid-Reza Moballegh, Amir Abdollahi, Iraj Hosseini, Puyan Amini, Hossein Ostadi, and Hamid Talebi were the five members of the Isfahani team.

Naja..soo hinterm Mond scheinen die Iraner nicht zu sein.

Mullah Lari: Iran Seeks More Cooperation With Neighbors

Interior minister mullah Moussavi Lari said here Monday evening that Iran seriously seeks expansion of bilateral cooperation with neighboring states.

In a meeting with UN special envoy to Iraq, Lakhdar Brahimi, mullah pointed to the new developments in Afghanistan and hoped the forthcoming presidential election in that country would be held on schedule and in an appropriate way. He expressed Tehran's readiness to provide the Afghan government with its experience on holding election, saying Iran is also ready to prepare all necessary arrangements for Afghan refugees to participate in the election inside the Iranian territory.

He then touched on the complicated situation in Iraq and said the possibility of establishment of a powerful government in that country looked dim due to the ongoing situation in that country. The UN envoy noted that the impacts of the brutal treatment of Saddam's regime and of its extermination of political activists can be observed now in the absence of competent political groups and parties.

Japaneseambassador says Iran-Japan ties growing

Ardebil, July 6, IRNA -- Japanese ambassador to Tehran Takekazu
Kawamura said here on Tuesday that relations between Tehran and Tokyo
have grown in political, cultural, scientific and economic domains.
In a meeting with Governor General of Iran`s northwestern province
of Ardebil Javad Negarandeh here on Tuesday, Kawamura said political
relations between Tehran and Tokyo have grown particularly after the
visit to Japan of President Mohammad Khatami.
He said volume of economic transactions between Iran and Japan
have reached a considerable level from dlrs nine billion.
He added that crude oil constitutes major portion of Iran-Japan
trade and the two countries have recently entered a deal for
development of southern Azadegan oil field.
He said Japanese companies and National Iranian Oil Company have
particularly been active in petrochemical projects in Imam Khomeini
and Assalouyeh ports as well as in Kermanshah of Iran.
The diplomat said Japanese companies have also been active in many
Iranian industrial fields, including the auto industry.
He said Iran and Japan are also exchanging views on Dialogue
amongst Civilizations.
Annually 20 Iranian students study in the BA/S and MA/S levels in
Japan on that country`s scholarship and there are now 120 students
there which is higher than those from other Middle Eastern states in
number. ...

Iran confirms clashes with Turkish Kurd rebels, puts death toll at10

TEHRAN July 7 (AFP) - Iran confirmed Wednesday that its troops had been engaged in clashes with rebels from the former Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) near the border with Turkey, the student news agency ISNA reported.

Deputy Interior Minister Ali Asghar Ahmadi said the clashes took place on June28 , killing two Iranian soldiers and eight rebels from the group, now known as the Kongra-Gel.

On Tuesday a pro-Kurdish news agency said 16 Iranian soldiers and four Turkish Kurd rebels were killed in fighting in a mountainous region along the Turkish border.

Turkish security sources confirmed the clashes, saying they were part of a "large-scale" operation launched by the Iranian army.
"There are at least 10 dead," a Turkish official told AFP in Diyarbakir, the center of Turkey's mainly Kurdish southeast.

The Germany-based MHA news agency, which is close to the rebels, reported that Iranian security forces had launched "a comprehensive operation" against the armed wing of the PKK last week. The first clashes occurred on Friday.

The Iranians used helicopters and heavy weapons, it said, adding that the operation was continuing.Iranian security forces also carried out raids -- apparently on PKK targets -- in the towns of Salmas and Khoy, near the Turkish border, MHA said.

The PKK has long used the mountainous border regions of Iran and Iraq, which are difficult to guard, as a springboard for attacks on Turkish territory.

Die Organisation Reporter ohne Grenzen (RoG) befürchtet, dass die Tötung der iranisch-kanadischen Journalistin Zahra Kazemi ungestraft bleiben wird. Kazemi war im Juli vergangenen Jahres in einem Militärkrankenhaus in Teheran den Verletzungen, die ihr in einem iranischen Gefängnis zugefügt worden waren, erlegen. Sie war in Juni 2003 festgenommen worden, als sie Angehörige von Gefangenen vor dem Evin-Gefängnis nördlich von Teheran fotografierte. Die Journalistin war währen der Haft geschlagen, und abwechselnd von Staatsanwaltschaft, Polizei und Geheimdienst verhört worden.
RoG vermutet, dass hochrangige Beamte in den Fall verwickelt sind. Als mögliche Schuldige benannte die Organisation Staatsanwalt Said Mortazavi und den Geheimdienst-Agenten Mohammad Ahmadi. Allerdings sei zu befüprchten, dass keiner von beiden verurteilt werde, so die Menschenrechtsorganisation. Schließlich hätten die iranische Behörden auch versucht, die wahre Todesursache zu verschleiern..........

Kashani:West`s claims to democracy and human rights are lies

Tehran, July 9, IRNA -- Tehran Friday Prayer leader Ayatollah
Mohammad Emami Kashani, addressing a congregation of Friday Prayer
worshipers, blasted US and European states` claims to human rights
and freedom as "all lies."
He also said Washington and the Zionists have lost sight of all
values.
Turning to the remarks of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic
Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, who visited Hamedan province
Thursday, he said that his call on the three branches of power to
work for the people is significant.
He noted that the Supreme Leader had also asked the people to do
their part, that is, fulfill their tasks.
He denounced the visit Thursday of the chief of the International
Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Mohammad Elbaradei, to Israel, saying
while the agency unfairly pressures Iran on its peaceful nuclear
program it says nothing about Israel`s nuclear arsenal.
Referring to Israel, he told worshipers "they have so many
warheads."
But "Mr. ElBaradei goes to Israel and instead of telling them to
correct their behavior, they just sit down and talk about Iran," he
complained.
The enemies of Iran should know that the Iranians are faithful,
courageous, independent, strong and smart and will not allow
foreigners to attack any part of the country or violate the smallest
of their rights to develop nuclear technology for peaceful purposes,
he reiterated.
Addressing the young people in the crowd, he warned them to
beware of Western culture and civilization.
"It is the technological progress of the West that you should
try to keep abreast with along with their scientific developments,"
he added.

Die Direktorenkonferenz der Landesmedienanstalten (DLM) hat am Dienstag in Kassel grünes Licht für ein persisch-sprachiges Fernseh-Unterhaltungsprogramm gegeben.

Das werbefinanzierte persische Programm «Mohajer TV» will laut der DLM Dokumentationen, kulturelle Berichte, Filme und Musik ausstrahlen. Ausgeschlossen werden religiöse und ideologische Inhalte. Gesendet wird das Programm täglich zwischen 10:00 - 22:00 Uhr. In der übrigen Zeit gibt es eine Wiederholung.

Der genaue Sendetermin steht noch nicht fest. 2 Teams der Mohajer TV arbeiten laut Angaben der IRNA im Iran noch an die Vorbereitungen für die Ausstrahlung des Programms in Deutschalnd.
Verantwortlich für das Fernsehprogramm ist offiziell die "Mohajer TV GmbH" mit Sitz in Hermeskeil in Rheinland-Pfalz.

TEHRAN (Reuters) - Kuwait has seized three Iranian fishing boats after they strayed into its waters in the latest in a string of incidents involving Iran and its Gulf neighbors, Iranian state television said Friday.
The boats' seizure, which appears to reflect stricter enforcement of territorial boundaries by Iran and its Gulf neighbors in recent weeks, came just two weeks after Iran captured and held three British naval vessels and their eight crew for three days.

The latest spat with Kuwait comes after an Iranian fishing boat was captured in the waters of the United Arab Emirates last month. Another Iranian fishing boat was fired upon by a Qatari naval vessel and later seized in similar circumstances.

Iran, which has made efforts to improve relations with its Arab neighbors under President Mohammad Khatami's reformist government, retaliated by seizing a number of fishing boats from the United Arab Emirates.

State television said Iran's embassy in Kuwait had confirmed the seizure of the three Iranian vessels and their crew.

"The Iranian embassy will follow up the issue Saturday," television quoted an unnamed Iranian diplomat as saying.

Es ist schlimm genug das im Iran überhaupt ausgepeitscht wird, meines erachtens sind das äusserst mittelalterliche Sitten. In dem Punkt ist der Iran ganz und gar nicht fortschrittlich, vor allem was Frauen und Menschenrecht betrifft:evil::evil:.
