Um der Bedrohung durch Drohnen zu begegnen, entsendet die ALAT (Leichte Luftwaffe der Armee) vier Tiger-Hubschrauber in den Nahen Osten. Die Kampfhubschrauber werden mit ihrer 30-mm-Kanone und lasergesteuerten Raketen ausgerüstet.

Diese Information wurde von General Pierre Schill, Stabschef der Armee, in der Zeitschrift „Le Point“ bekannt gegeben. Die Tiger HAD Mk2 werden die Rafale-Einheit verstärken, die auf dem Luftwaffenstützpunkt 104 in den Vereinigten Arabischen Emiraten stationiert ist und kürzlich durch sechs aus Frankreich angeflogene Flugzeuge aufgestockt wurde.

A video released by Qatar’s Ministry of Defence on March 30 shows the Qatari Emiri Navy conducting missile defense and strike operations, including what appears to be the landing platform dock Al Fulk firing at least one of its ASTER 30 Block 1 missile against an incoming threat which could be a ballistic missile. The Al Fulk, delivered by Fincantieri in late 2023, is the only amphibious vessel in the world equipped with a dedicated ballistic missile defense capability. The ship carries an 8-cell Sylver A50 vertical launch system loaded with MBDA ASTER 30 Block 1 missiles, paired with Leonardo’s Kronos AESA radar and a Kronos Power Shield L-band radar capable of detecting ballistic threats at ranges up to 1,500 kilometers.

US fighter jet shot down in Iran, reports say

A search and rescue effort was underway on Friday afternoon to locate the crew of a U.S. fighter jet that was shot down in Iran, The New York Times reported, citing U.S. officials. One crew member from the downed jet was rescued by American forces, two U.S. officials confirmed to CBS News. [...]

Iranian state media on Friday circulated photos and videos of debris from what appeared to be an F-15 fighter jet, including an ejection seat, claiming it had been shot down. Videos also appeared to show a C-130 Hercules cargo aircraft and two UH-60 Black Hawks that Iranian media claimed were part of the search effort.
