KHANKALA. Aug 8 (Interfax) - One crewmember was killed and another two injured when an Mi-8 helicopter was shot down from a portable missile launcher near the village of Dyshne-Vedeno in southeastern Chechnya on Thursday evening.
A source in the headquarters for the Combined Federal Forces in the North Caucasus told Interfax on Friday that search teams have evacuated the wounded pilots from the crash scene. The incident occurred at around 8:30 p.m. Moscow time.
Search and reconnaissance operations are in progress.
