Zitat:India has begun testing two prototypes of its new Abhay ICVs (Infantry Combat Vehicles.) These are similar to the American M-2 Bradley. Abhay currently weighs about 20 tons, and is armed with a 30mm cannon and four ATGM launchers. It has a crew of three and carries seven infantry as well. The final design is not set yet, and it may be several years before it is. India has had a difficult time developing armored vehicles, which has more to do with the shortcomings of the military bureaucrats than any difficulties with the technology. India has plenty of good engineers, but is seriously lacking in weapons development officials who can get something going, and completed in a reasonable amount of time. India wants to buy over a thousand Abhays to replace its aging Russian BMP ICVs.
