FORT BLISS, Texas (AP) - A Patriot Missle air defense unit from Fort Bliss has been ordered to deploy to the Middle East as part of President Bush's troop surge in Iraq.
Jean Offutt, a Fort Bliss spokeswoman, said about 600 soldiers will head to the region in about six weeks. The 3rd Battalion, 43rd Air Defense Artillery, 11th ADA will be the first Patriot Missile unit to deploy to the Middle East since the leadup to the war in Iraq in 2002. ...
