"If we are unable to be competitive then we will boycott," said Mossavi-Lari, a senior member of Khatami's Association of Combative Clerics which will be spearheading the reformist challenge.
"In other words, if our candidates are blacklisted by the Guardians Council or it becomes clear the elections will not be competitive then we will boycott the elections," said the cleric, the longest serving interior minister in the Islamic republic's history.
