(Reuters Photo) An unexploded bomblet from Israeli cluster bombs lies in southern Lebanon

The Israeli army used cluster bombs and phosphorous shells during its deadly offensive in Lebanon, Israel’s Haaretz newspaper reported on Tuesday.

Quoting the head of an Israeli rocket unit in Lebanon, Haaretz reported that the Israeli army fired more than 1,800 cluster bombs, containing over 1.2 million cluster bomblets, during the month-long offensive in Lebanon which killed more than 1,200 Lebanese civilians, and displaced a million others.
