WASHINGTON - TDN Defense Desk
U.S. President George W. Bush and British Prime Minister Tony Blair have resolved a major dispute over Britain's access to sensitive technology in the U.S.-led F-35 Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) program, which earlier had jeopardized London's participation in the world's largest fighter aircraft program.
"Both governments agree that the United Kingdom will have the ability to successfully operate, upgrade, employ and maintain the Joint Strike Fighter such that the United Kingdom retains operational sovereignty over the aircraft," Bush and Blair said ina joint statement Friday at the end of their two-day summit here.
