TEHRAN, Jan. 4 (MNA) -– “The nation is in possession of know-how on disassembling and reassembling of aircraft engine parts,” general manager of Iran Air’s Mechanical Shops Abdullah Maleki stated on Wednesday.
“Up to now, we had to send the aircraft engines abroad for repair and sustain the cost of delivery as well,” he said, “whereas, now, we could save both in shipping and repair costs.”
“For the overhaul of a Boeing 747’s engine in the past, the airline had to transport the whole unit to a destination like France or Germany and pay over four million dollars for fixing it,” Maleki elaborated in conclusion.
