ANKARA [MENL] -- Turkey has decided to bolster its defense research capability.
The government of Prime Minister Recep Erdogan has approved a huge increase for the state-owned Scientific and Technical Research Council of Turkey, known by its Turkish acronym Tubitak. Officials said the government agreed to a Tubitak budget of $450 million, by far the largest since 1964.
