I.R.I ranks eighth in Asian economy

Tehran, Feb 2 - Iran stood as the eighth economy in Asia in 2004 according to the International Monatary Fund which has based its evaluation on the countries' gross demestic product (GDP).
The world body named Iran as the world's 32nd economy, three ranks higher than its previous data two months ago.
Iran's $166 billion GDP in 2004 which is predicted to continue its growing has come from more effective use of the country's capacities and potentials, increased involement of the private sector as well as boosted oil exports's revenues, experts say.
Creation of the Hard Currency Fund and allocation of more than $8 billion for various development projects are two other reasons for Iran's booming economy, they noted.
