9th Int`lOil, Gas & Petrochemical Exhibition to open in Tehran

Tehran, July 4, IRNA -- The 9th International Oil, Gas and
Petrochemical Exhibition, which is expected to be attended by 1,100
Iranian and foreign firms, will be inaugurated here on Monday.
Deputy Oil Minister for International Affairs Akbar Torkan told
reporters that 684 Iranian and 437 foreign firms, including those from
Germany, Britain and France, will take part.
The exhibition, said Torkan, will be held in an area of 50,000
square meters with four halls dedicated to foreign and 12 to Iranian
firms.
Elsewhere in the interview, the official put Iran`s oil production
capacity at four million barrels a day and said the figure is expected
to reach 4,400,000 barrels a day by end of the year on March 20, 2005.
He predicted that about one million barrels will be added to the
national oil production capacity a day during the fourth five-year
economic development plan (2005-10).
