Tehran, May 30, IRNA -- The Islamic Republic of Iran and Ukraine
signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on auto manufacturing
during the fourth meeting of their Joint Economic Commission held in
Kiev on May 26-27, it was announced on Sunday.
According to the Public Relations Department of Ministry of
Industries and Mines, at the joint economic commission meeting, the
two sides called for continued cooperation on manufacturing of planes
called `Iran 140` and aircraft engine as well as setting up a
consortium to take advantage of industrial potentials in both
countries.
The two sides also agreed to take steps to set up production line
for titanium and super alloy in the Islamic Republic of Iran, joint
investments on gas and oil projects in Iran and abroad as well as
formation of a joint company to implement economic projects in both
countries, said the report.

Tehran, May 30, IRNA -- Secretary General of Iran Drug Control
Headquarters (IDCH) said here Sunday the 54 percent increase in
seizure of drugs in the last Iranian Year (ended March 19) over the
year before is primarily due to increased cultivation in Afghanistan.
In a meeting with Polish Ambassador to Iran Witold Smidowski, Ali
Hashemi further said that despite the presence of western countries in
Afghanistan, the production of drugs has not only not been reduced,
but on the contrary, it has increased.
