THE makers of the Eurofighter aircraft have promised to cut about £200 million from the cost of the programme in an attempt to prevent the UK from abandoning Europe’s largest industrial project.
Defence officials in London have been warned that Britain’s foot-dragging over a new deal — Germany, France and Spain have agreed to sign — would have serious consequences for the four-nation project.
