Turkish MoD Announces SİPER-1 and AKSUNGUR Delivery TurDef
Turkish MoD announced that another battery of SİPER Product 1 long-range air defence system, AKSUNGUR UCAVs, and CATS EO/IR systems have been delivered.
The Turkish Armed Forces have received one more SİPER Product 1 battery and an undisclosed number of AKSUNGUR long-endurance UCAVs with CATS EO/IR systems, according to a recent statement by the Turkish MoD.
SİPER-1, production and deliveries of which are ongoing, is the first long-range effector within the Steel Dome integrated air defence system architecture. Each battery currently includes SİPER Block 1 missiles with a range of 100+ km, ALP 310-G S-band early warning radar, and AKREP 1000-G X-band multi-function fire control radar alongside supporting and control assets.
SİPER’s capabilities will be extended through new additions such as ALP 400-G V/UHF-band early warning radar against low RCS targets and the later SİPER missiles (Block 2 with a range of 150 km and Block 3 with a range of 180 km).
On the other hand, AKSUNGUR UCAV of TUSAŞ has been in service with the Air Force and the Navy, with an endurance spanning 50 hours. The UCAV can be fitted with EO/IR systems, radars (MİLSAR, FULMAR 200-A), and various munitions (MAM-L, MAM-T, TEBER-81/82, KGK-82-SİHA).
