The Bushmaster can also be easily set up with dual-feed architecture, which would give the mount a significant upgrade. Dual feed allows two different ammunition types to be carried ready-to-fire, making it possible to quickly switch between either air-burst programmable ammunition for counter-UAS tasks, or conventional high-explosive rounds in the anti-surface role. This flexibility is particularly valuable in congested littoral environments, where air and surface threats may appear concurrently, and engagement priorities can shift in seconds. This arrangement has been selected by the US Navy, German Navy and other 30mm users.
