EuroTrophy announced in a press release on the eve of Defence iQʼs International Armoured Vehicles (IAV) 2026 conference held in Farnborough from 20 to 22 January that it had signed a EUR330 million (USD 385.7 million) contract with KNDS Deutschland to supply its Trophy active protection system (APS) for the Leopard 2A8 main battle tank (MBT) programmes for Croatia, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, and Lithuania. The contract includes spare parts, courses, training packages, and other logistic equipment for through-life support of the APS.
The Leopard 2A8 includes the Trophy APS as part of its standard configuration. EuroTrophy said the Trophy APS provides interoperability and full commonality within the countries procuring the MBT, which also include Germany and Norway.
In his presentation at IAV 2026 on 21 January, EuroTrophy managing directorDan Kalfus said that over 2,000 Trophy systems have been delivered. In addition to the Leopard 2 and Boxer 8×8 armoured vehicle, this includes the M1 Abrams and Merkava IV MBTs, as well as lighter platforms such as the Patria 8×8 Armoured Modular Vehicle (AMV), the Namer armoured personnel carrier, and other wheeled and tracked infantry fighting vehicles. German Panzerbrigade 12's Panzerbataillon (Armoured Battalion) 363 has been integrating and training with its Leopard 2A7A1's Trophy systems. EuroTrophy announced in December 2024 that KNDS Deutschland ordered 123 Trophy systems for the German Army's Leopard 2A8 fleet.
