Guidance bezeichnet erstmal jegliche Art von Feuerleitung, dass können nur Positionsdaten sein, aber auch Lenkbefehle.

Zitat:The Aegis mode implements a type of midcourse guidance referred to as command guidance. In the case of command midcourse guidance, acceleration commands computed by the launch ship are transmitted to the missile on the uplink.

Steht doch auch eindeutig hier: Bei AEGIS S-Band werden acceleration commands gesendet.

Man könnte auch mal die Fußnote zu Bild 1 lesen:

Zitat:Figure 1. SM-2 flight phases. The missile communications link provides data to allow the missile to fly an efficient trajectory toward the predicted intercept point (PIP). The trajectory may be computed on the missile (inertial guidance) by using data on the uplink from the ship or at the ship (command guidance) and sent on the uplink to the missile.

Das Gegenteil davon ist der 2T-Link:

Zitat:As shown in Fig. 2, the 2T mode implements a type of midcourse guidance referred to as inertial guidance, where the missile is sent information about a point in space to fly toward; this point is known as the primary command point (PCP). Once the missile reaches the vicinity of the PCP, it begins to search for the target using the RF seeker to track the target-reflected energy from the illuminator. In this mode, additional uplinks are not transmitted in the midcourse phase unless the target maneuvers enough to cause the PCP to change significantly.

The 2T link, which is used by our foreign missile sales customers (e.g., The Netherlands, Germany, South Korea, Taiwan, etc.), employs SM-2 and ESSM and provides only an uplink from the launching ship to the missile.

Die Antwort, wo der Vorteil von S-Band-Guidance liegt steht auch im Dokument:

Zitat:The 2T bit rate is more than three orders of magnitude lower than the bit rate of the Aegis link.

Bei 2T fehlt einfach die Bandbreite, um mehr als nur die Positionsdaten zu schicken.

Zitat:In the AEGIS Combat System, SM-2 is command-guided during midcourse flight under direct control of the ship (Fig. Sa). The AN / SPY-IA radar performs missile and target tracking and also serves as the shipboard data link transceiver. Steering commands are computed by the ship weapon-control computer and transmitted on the uplink to the missile, which acknowledges receipt via the downlink.
