EDR berichtet über die Zukunft der PZH2000
EDR: KNDS Deutschland, where does the PzH 2000 go?
Die A4 Variante soll gerade für Deutschland und die Ukraine in der Produktion sein. Die Upgrades sollen unter anderem ein neuer Feuerleitrechner sein, Änderungen an der Elektronik für mehr leistungshungrige Systeme und standardmäßige Integration von VULCANO 155.
Währenddessen soll für die A5 Variante im September der Design Freeze kurz bevorstanden haben.
Die A5 Variante soll in 3 Jahren ausgeliefert werden. Ziel hier ist ein völlig digitales System zu haben. Der Lademechanismus soll verbessert werden, so dass nur noch eine 3 Personen Besatzung benötigt wird und auch bei einem Ausfall des Mechanismus manuell weiter geladen werden kann. Auch soll es wohl eine RWS geben, wie die installiert wird ist aber noch nicht bekannt.
Laut EDR sind neben Deutschland auch die Niederlande und Litauen mit KNDS in Kontakt hinsichtlich des A5 Upgrades. Auch Italien, Griechenland, Ungarn und Kroatien sollen Interesse an diesem Upgrade haben.
Laut EDR soll Deutschland auch Interesse an einer "three-digit number" neuer PZH2000 haben.

EDR On-Line understood that the PzH 2000 A5 upgrade will have a core capability common to all customers, with some optional elements that each nation might decide to adopt or not.
The core of the programme aims at transform the self-propelled howitzer in a full-digital system with a semi-open electronic architecture. It will maintain the new Centurion fire control computer from the A4, however this will be plugged into a new full-digital electronic architecture, that will allow a much easier integration of new subsystems, should the need arise, as well as a much greater flexibility should some foreign customers adopt the A5 with different subsystems, thanks to standardised electronic interfaces. New sensors will be adopted, the ammunition autoloader will be improved as well as the gun laying system, a two slip ring solution being also adopted for the turret to cope with the new ammunition handling system, while the fuse programming station adopted on the A4 will remain.
