HAVELSAN and Egypt's AOI have signed an MoU to cooperate to make autonomous UAVs, which will provide the African market with high-tech, low-cost solutions.
HAVELSAN and Egypt's Arab Organisation for Industrialisation (AOI) have inked an MoU to cooperate to make autonomous unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The agreement will focus on local assembly and co-production to provide affordable products that are perfect for Egypt and the rest of Africa.
Dr. Mehmet Akif Nacar, the General Manager of HAVELSAN, spoke at the signing event and stressed how important the partnership was: "We are happy to work with AOI." This partnership will not only bring new UAV technology to the area, but it will also improve the ability of local manufacturers to make things and ensure that they have a solid entry into the African market.
Major General Engineer Mokhtar Abdellatif, the chairman of AOI, said that HAVELSAN's technological knowledge and AOI's manufacturing capability will help Egypt achieve its goals in military and technology. "This partnership is more than just making things; it's a big step towards technological independence and long-term exports," he added. AOI stated that the MoU is in line with the organization's vision to attract investment, meet local market needs, and open new export outlets, in line with Egypt's Vision 2030 for Sustainable Development.
