Wenn es um Menschenrechtsverstöße und Hinrichtungen geht, wird gerne (und auch berechtigt) auf den Iran und das Mullah-Regime hingewiesen. Dabei ist allerdings der Nachbar jenseits des Golfs im Grunde kaum einen Deut besser, er hat nur den Vorteil, dass er mit dem Westen und v. a. den USA recht eng verbündet ist und sich deswegen kaum oder sehr stiefmütterlich Kritik anhören muss. Dabei hat die absolute Monarchie in Riad derzeit einen Höchststand an Hinrichtungen zu verzeichnen.
