The wife of alleged gunman Dezi Freeman has urged her husband to surrender and offered her condolences to the families of two police officers who were shot dead last week in regional Victoria. [...] A man charged with weapons and drug offences in Victoria's north-east is being investigated in connection to the search for alleged gunman Dezi Freeman. The major search operation for the 56-year-old self-described sovereign citizen has entered a sixth day. Police allege Mr Freeman shot three police officers who were executing a warrant at his Porepunkah property, killing Detective Leading Senior Constable Thompson and Senior Constable De Waart, and injuring a third officer. Gab da übrigens schon einen ähnlichen Vorfall Ende 2022, wenngleich das Motiv damals eher in Richtung christlich-religiösem Fundamentalismus zeigte und nicht in Richtung "Reichsbürger":

Könnte man nun natürlich auch hinterfragen, wie es um die Ausbildung der Polizei in Australien bestellt ist, denn offenkundig gingen die Beamten sehr höflich und zurückhaltend vor - was man ja auch gerne mal unserer Polizei unterstellt und dann als Ausbildungsmangel ansieht - und wurden dann faktisch schlichtweg niedergeschossen.
