TCG İstanbul Hits Target UAV with HİSAR-D RF Missile TurDef
The lead ship of I-class frigates, TCG İstanbul (F-515), hit the high-speed target UAV successfully with the HİSAR-D RF air defence missile for the first time.

A year after the firing test of HİSAR-D RF from TCG İstanbul’s MİDLAS VLS cell, the naval medium-range air defence missile successfully hit the high-speed target UAV with both midcourse guidance from TCG İstanbul and the AGRAS 2203/SA RF seeker.

Upon launch, HİSAR-D RF was provided with midcourse guidance from the CENK 400-N AESA searching radar and AKREP 300-N fire control radar through the GÜDÜ 200-MG datalink component as the ship-based leg of the two-way datalink.

It is seen that HİSAR-D RF approached the target UAV from below, at a very small vertical distance, as most air defence missiles’ fragmentation warheads spread laterally for the most part.
