In den letzten Tagen hat die westliche Medienlandschaft sehr viel Unfug über das US/Iranische Verhältnis geschrieben. In diesem Zusammenhang wäre nämlich zu ergänzen:

Top Commander: No Chance for Tehran-Washington Cooperation

TEHRAN (FNA)- Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces General Hassan Firouzabadi rejected western media speculations about Tehran's likely cooperation with the US over Iraq, and also stressed that Iran has not deployed troops in Iraq.

The Leader of the Islamic Republic emphasized that the US and western imperial powers were behind the violence and upheaval in Iraq. “The Islamic Republic of Iran strongly opposes any intervention by the US in Iraq and believes that people and clerical order are capable of solving the issue and ending the unrest in Iraq,” said the Leader.

The Leader believed that the US sought to show a sectarian war in Iraq. “What happens in Iraq is not a Shiite-Sunni sectarian strife; rather, the domination system tries to restore pre-2003 conditions in Iraq with the main pieces being Takfirists and former Baathist elements as infantry of the domination system to destabilize the country and to threat its territorial integrity,” the Leader said.
