Erneut gab es zahlreiche Todesopfer in der als Unruheprovinz angesehenen Xinjiang-Region: Bei einem (mutmaßlichen) versuchten Terroranschlag in dem Uiguren-Gebiet starben 13 Menschen. Ferner sollen im Zusammenhang mit früheren Anschlägen in der Region 13 weitere Personen hingerichtet worden sein.
