Iraq has reportedly refused to take delivery of another consignment of Ukrainian BTR-4 armoured personnel carriers (APCs) due to defects.
The country ordered 420 BTR-4s and six Antonov An-32B transport aircraft in 2009, but the deal has suffered several setbacks. The Iraqis were disappointed with the initial An-32s they received as some of their parts were made before 2009, while the delivery of the first batch of BTR-4s was delayed after Iraqi inspectors found their 30 mm ZTM-1 guns to be defective.
