CHINA (Territorial Disputes)
Senkaku/Diaoyu Islands: In two recent (19 Jan, 30 Jan) incidents in the East China Sea, Chinese warship(s) “illuminated” a Japanese naval helicopter and a Japanese destroyer with fire control radar … could be first incidents involving regular navy ships of both countries … Japan lodged official protest with Beijing which until now has refused to comment.
(rmks: Serious escalation. Aiming active fire control radar at a warship is internationally regarded as “hostile act”, and there are a number of navies which instantly would have “responded”)
