The [israeli] media reported on Thursday that preliminary findings from police investigation indicated that either military or civilian personnel within the airbase might have assisted the thieves.

The Israeli military suspected that the engines might have been stolen to be sold as scrap metal, the media said. However, it is still unclear when the thefts took place and no suspects have been arrested so far.
