IHS Forecasts Chinese Defence Budget Doubled By 2015

According to the Defense & Security Analysis Journal, by the year 2015, the Chinese defence budget will double to US$ 238.2 billion. If the prediction is true, then it will surpass the total defence budget of all its neighbours, including Japan and India.

PLAAF To Be The Focus Of Defence Budget

The Chinese defence ministry has announced that this year, the defence budget will cross the $100 billion mark for the first time.


A report published in the official news agency Xinhua, claimed that a total of 670 billion Yuan will be allotted for defence this year (equivalent to $106 billion). A significant part of this amount is expected to be spent on purchase of aircrafts as well as on research and development.
