Value of Iran’s gold reserves triples: central banker

TEHRAN, Sept. 5 (MNA) - To prevent a freeze of its foreign reserves Iran withdrew its deposits from foreign banks and allocated 13 billion dollars of that reserves to buying gold and now that value of that gold has tripled.

The central banker also added that value of Iran’s foreign exchange reserves has increased 6.5 billion dollars as the central bank changed some its reserves from dollar to other currencies.

Main suspect in embezzlement case arrested: minister

TEHRAN, Sept. 18 (MNA) – Amir Mansour Aria, the main suspect in the 30,000-billion-rial (about 3-billion-dollar) embezzlement case has been arrested, Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance Shamseddin Hosseini told reporters on Sunday.
He did not elaborate how Aria was arrested.
