Ahmadinejad: Iran seeks 'unified' Lebanon

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad emphasized Iran’s support for Lebanon on Wednesday during a visit to the country.

In a news conference with his Lebanese counterpart, Michel Suleiman, he said he sought a "unified" Lebanon. Ahmadinejad also stressed solidarity with Lebanon in the event of Israeli "animosities."

Lebanon, Iran ink 17 trade agreements

Lebanon and Iran signed on Wednesday 17 trade agreements in economic, oil and energy fields, the English-language newspaper Daily Start reported.

On Friday, Bassil and Iran’s Energy Minister Majid Namjoo signed in Beirut a deal to provide Lebanon with $450 million worth of letters of credit to allow the Lebanese government to finance some of the ambitious energy projects.
