　　BEIJING, Aug. 30 (Xinhua) -- A Chinese navy hospital ship will leave China for the Gulf of Aden on Sept. 1 to offer medical services to Chinese escort missions in the waters, the Chinese Defense Ministry said here Monday.

Chinese navy hospital ship PEACE ARK (rmks: should be 866 DAISHANDAO) set to leave China for the Gulf of Aden … to offer medical services to Chinese escort missions and to officers and soldiers of other countries conducting anti-piracy activities in the region … will also call at Djibouti, Kenya, Tanzania, the Seychelles and Bangladesh to offer medical treatment to local people.
(rmks: this is a very first for the Chinese navy which, with a view at the very successful US-led multinational mission Pacific Partnership, maybe would not want to leave the field entirely to the US Navy!)
