6.3-magnitude quake strikes Papua New Guinea

(CNN) -- A 6.3-magnitude earthquake struck Papua New Guinea Sunday morning, the U.S. Geological Survey reported. There were no immediate report of injuries, damages or deaths.

The quake struck at 9:15 a.m. Sunday (7:15 p.m. ET Saturday), according to USGS. The quake's epicenter was 30 kilometers (20 miles) east of Lae, Papua New Guinea, and 300 km (185 miles) north of the capital, Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea.

Tote bei Erdbeben in Afghanistan

Bei einem Erdbeben in Nordafghanistan sind am Montag mindestens sieben Menschen getötet und mehr als 30 weitere verletzt worden. Zum Beben mit der Stärke von 5,3 kam es kurz nach Mitternacht (Ortszeit) in der Provinz Samangan.
