Iran's Navy to Launch 2 Light-Weight Submarines
TEHRAN (FNA)- The Iranian Navy is scheduled to launch 2 light-weight submarines this weekend, a senior Iranian Navy commander announced on Monday.
"Two light submarines of the Islamic Republic of Iran's Navy will be operationalized on November 28, i.e. the Navy Day," Commander of the Iranian Army's Navy Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari told reporters here in Tehran today.

WASHINGTON [MENL] -- Iran was determined to have significantly enhanced its
naval operations in the Gulf.
A U.S. Navy report asserted that Iran has achieved success in its effort
launched in 2007 to bolster naval capabilities. The report by naval
intelligence said Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has developed a
fast attack capability that could overcome larger naval vessels.
