"Iran and Turkmenistan enjoy good relations in the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC), Caspian Sea (affairs) and the UN and these fields of cooperation can step into a new phase through increasing consultations," Mottaki said in a meeting with Turkmenistan's National Assembly Speaker Akdzha Nurberdyeva on Saturday.

During the meeting, Nurberdyeva expressed satisfaction over bilateral relations, and added that the two countries' presidents are resolved to expand and deepen ties.

"We want bolstering relations in all fields," she added.

Iran to Link Far East to Europe

TEHRAN (FNA)- Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu Saturday said that his country plans to build a transit road to China which will pass through the Iranian cities of Tabriz, Tehran and Mashhad.

"We plan to link China's transit road like Silk Road via Mashhad-Tehran-Tabriz to Turkey and Europe," Davutoglu said in a meeting with East Azarbaijan's Governor General Ahmad Alireza Beigi in the northwestern city of Tabriz.

"The two countries' goal for achieving a 30-billion-dollar volume of trade, which was announced during the Turkish prime minister's visit to Iran, is accessible and we can go even beyond this level," Davutoglu added.
