Die innenpolitischen Probleme bewirken wohl in den Streitkräften erste personelle Wechsel. Armeechef Kayani hat im Rahmen einer personellen Umstrukturierung des Militärs und damit verbundener Beförderungen auch den Chef des militärisch kontrollierten ISI ausgewechselt und ihn mit einem neuen, loyalen und fähigen General besetzt, der mehr Sicherheit und Verläßlichkeit bewirken soll, so die Meldungen.

General Pasha war zudem auch verantwortlich für die militärischen Operationen der letzten Wochen in Bajaur und im weiteren auch für Operationen im Swat-Tal gegen die Taliban und die dortigen radikalen Militanten.
