(Amerika) Streitkräfte der USA - allg. Sammelthread

Zitat:As a night vision device, the ENVG-B’s dual thermal and infrared sensing capabilities deliver unmatched clarity in situations where visibility is diminished, including the complete absence of light. It was fielded for the first time last fall as part of an initial Directed Requirement to get those next generation night vision capabilities in the hands of Soldiers at Fort Riley who have since deployed with them to Korea.

It’s a system that includes augmented reality capabilities and a heads-up display that integrates wirelessly with weapon optics. Those kind of capabilities make it possible for a Soldier to detect and even fire on a target around an obstacle with limited exposure to the enemy.

“In terms of target detection and clarity, the difference between the (ENVG-B) and the PVS-14 is night and day,” Hess said. “The guys wearing the ENVG-Bs were taking targets out to 300 meters and even beyond, whereas our guys with 14s are having trouble seeing beyond 150. I can’t say enough about the ENVG-Bs. There’s really no comparison.”

Zitat:US Army aims to have Iron Dome deployment ready by September

The US Army is training soldiers on how to operate Rafael’s Iron Dome, with the goal of having the first battery ready to deploy by September and the second by about December, the service told Janes .

Israel delivered the first air-defence battery to the army in September 2020 and the weapon is now at White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico, Donald Herrick, a spokesman for the Air and Missile Defense Cross Functional Team, wrote in a 6 January email. The army then received the second battery in early January and Herrick said this one should arrive at the missile range by early March.

As for the manning part of the equation, the service activated two air defence artillery batteries at Fort Bliss, Texas, in November 2020. [...]

USEUCOM-Kommandeur Gen.

https://warisboring.com/secretary-of-def...-in-ranks/

Zitat:Secretary of Defense orders sixty-day ‘stand down’ to address ‘extremism in ranks’

The stand down will occur over the next 60 days, Kirby said. This is so “each service, each command and each unit can take the time out to have these needed discussions with the men and women of the force.”

“Discrimination of any kind, for any reason, goes against the core values and will not be tolerated within the ranks.

https://www.armyrecognition.com/weapons_...120mm.html

Zitat:The JLTV mortar carrier is fitted with an Elbit Systems’ SPEAR, a fully autonomous, vehicle-mounted
120mm soft recoil mortar system mounted at the rear of the vehicle. The vehicle has a crew cab located at the front vehicle providing armor protection against firing of small arms and artillery shell splinters.

The SPEAR is equipped with a recoil reduction system that reduces the mortar’s firing loads from 30+ tons to as low as 12-15 tons, the “soft recoil” allows the SPEAR to be mounted on a variety of high mobility light tactical vehicles such as HMMWVs, jeeps and other high-mobility rapid deployment wheeled platforms as well as bigger wheeled or tracked platforms.

The SPEAR is equipped with computerized aiming and navigation devices, enabling the mortar system to be operated autonomously and aimed without the need for external reference points. SPEAR can be easily integrated with a variety of C4I or Battle Management Systems (BMS).

RAIDER X ® is the only aircraft designed to survive the future battlefield — and with mission flexibility to adapt even faster than the battlespace changes. Providing unmatched battlefield intelligence and growth potential, RAIDER X ® is the choice between a flight plan and a fight plan.

Eine Zusammenfassung über die Doktrin der US Streitkräfte 2020:

https://rdl.train.army.mil/catalog-ws/vi...ordxv2.pdf

Elbit Systems of America’s Autonomous Truck Mounted Ordnance System (ATMOS) Iron Sabre is a mobile howitzer selected to participate in the United States Army’s 155mm Mobile Howitzer Shoot-Off Evaluation. The event, which will occur during the first quarter of 2021, provides the Army an opportunity to review various solutions from industry and then select a production-ready system that demonstrates increases in range, rate of fire, and mobility over current artillery systems available to Stryker Brigade Combat Teams (SBCTs).

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bMHcCmzI8-s

https://api.army.mil/e2/c/downloads/2021...ersion.pdf

Zitat:Army, Calling Itself an ‘All-Domain’ Force, Prioritizes Long-Range Strike

The Army’s new vision dubs it an “All-Domain” Army and envisions “expanding … into the maritime, air, space, and cyber domains” while seizing new roles in long-range strike and suppressing enemy air defense.

A new white paper released March 16 declares that, while part of the Joint force, the Army holds a pre-eminent role in combat by virtue of its size, and surmises that the other services should adopt its methodologies.

Zitat:The U.S. Army will transform over the next 14 years into a multidomain power capable of operating as an “inside force” within an adversary’s defensive zones, according to a strategy paper released Tuesday by the service.

“Army Multi-Domain Transformation: Ready to Win in Competition and Conflict” outlines in declassified form how and why the service plans to transform into a force “able to dominate adversaries in sustained large-scale combat operations by 2035,” the Army said in news release.

Ein Animations-Film darüber wie sich die US Army ihre Infantry-Brigade-Combat-Teams im Jahr 2028 vorstellt:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a5thfHTbOrg

Zitat:This visualization shows the capabilities of the IBCT to execute Multi-Domain Operations (MDO) while utilizing a variety of War Fighting Functions that are allocated to it’s formation. The video will serve as a condensed O&O, illustrating the capability of the current and future (2028 – 2035) IBCT to execute MDO in a contested, increasingly complex operational environment.
