TÜBİTAK Works on Multi-Static and Metamaterials for Radars TurDef Representations for multi-static radar layout and metamaterial antenna
Two R&D projects are ongoing within TÜBİTAK BİLGEM to provide new capabilities in the radar field as multi-static sensing and metamaterial-based antennas, as stated in the 2025 activity recap of TÜBİTAK.

Multi-Static Radar Technologies
Within the scope of the Multi-Static Radar Capability Acquisition (MSRYK) programme, a simulated user interface with operational definitions and fusion parameters was completed in 2025.

The significance of multi-static radar technology lies in the advantages brought by the use of multiple radar units to practically act as one, as both transmitters and receivers.

Using two radars viewing the target from two or more angles, receiving both each other’s and their own reflection, mainly improves the resolution and offers improved detection against targets employing RCS reduction techniques that focus on reducing the reflection towards the radar.

Updated GÜRZ 200 AD System Spotted at ASELSAN Facilities TurDef
Updated configuration of the GÜRZ 200 gun/missile air defence system was spotted during NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte’s visit to ASELSAN’s Gölbaşı facility.

The updated configuration of ASELSAN’s comprehensive GÜRZ 200 truck-based air defence system was spotted in a photo released by ASELSAN [BIST:ASELS] regarding Mark Rutte’s visit to the Gölbaşı Facility.

GÜRZ 200’s turret, peeking out from the side in the photo, is seen to have four fixed vertical launchers for GÖKSUR missiles (Derived from BOZDOĞAN WVRAAM) and a separate erector for a quad pod for SUNGUR short-range air defence missiles. However, an interesting detail is that the AKREP 100-G fire control radar is not seen on the turret, which was present in previously shown configurations.

ASELSAN Tests KORKUT 100/25 SB C-UAS System with ATOM 25 TurDef
ASELSAN shared the test video of its KORKUT 100/25 SB mobile C-UAS system fitted with a 25 mm autocannon firing ATOM 25 prefragmented airburst ammunition.

KORKUT 100/25 SB shot down a quadrotor UAV target using the ATOM 25 airburst ammunition in its first announced test. KORKUT 100/25 SB was unveiled during the SAHA EXPO 2024 defence exhibition.

The system developed by ASELSAN [BIST:ASELS], using Nurol Makina's Ejder Yalçın EWB 4x4 as the platform, incorporates four AURA 200-G AESA radars and a mast-mounted EO/IR system as the sensors.

The main weapon, a 25 mm autocannon fitted with ATOM 25 prefragmented airburst rounds, provides a lighter and more mobile option compared to the KORKUT SPAAG. It is seen in the video that two to five rounds can take out most small UAVs. ATOM 25 with a muzzle velocity of 1100 m/s has an effective range of 1000 m against UAVs, while this can go up to 1500 m for soft land targets (Infantry, unarmoured vehicles, sensors...).

In addition to KORKUT 100/25 SB, ASELSAN is also developing the towed KORKUT 130/25 SB variant with the same loadout, which could be regarded as a successor to ŞAHİN 130/40GL, which is using ATOM 40 airburst grenades, thanks to longer range and far shorter time to target provided by ATOM 25.

ASELSAN Mentions 200-Series Variant for KORKUT 35 mm SPAAG TurDef
ASELSAN’s 2025 activity report mentioned two new variants for the KORKUT 35 mm SPAAG, as KORKUT 240/35 and KORKUT 250/35, to be delivered under a contract.

According to the ASELSAN [BIST:ASELS] 2025 activity report, a contract for KORKUT 240/35 and KORKUT 250/35 35 mm SPAAGs has been signed for delivery.

The report did not disclose the details of these new variants, but it is understood from the coding that KORKUT 240/35 is the 8x8 AFV configuration and KORKUT 250/35 is the tracked AFV configuration (Likely on FNSS’s ACV AD platform).

As to what kind of changes this new variant might have, ASELSAN’s outdoor booth from IDEF2025 might provide a hint. A new configuration of KORKUT on OTOKAR’s ARMA II 8x8 AFV was displayed with four KALKAN 50-G AESA radars and KANGAL FPV C-UAS jammers. KALKAN 50-G using S-band can detect micro UAVs and operate in weapon locating mode against RAM threats. The radar is compatible with AKREP 100-G fire control radar used on KORKUT 35 mm SPAAGs, ASELSAN’s C-UAS jammers, and KORKUT C-RAM.

Zitat:SAHA EXPO 2026: İHTAR C-UAS Jammer Gets AESA Radars

ASELSAN’s İHTAR C-UAS system has received an upgrade with four AESA radar panels replacing the AURA 100-G radar and a new antenna layout for the jammer.

Exhibiting the new members for the C-UAS layer of the Steel Dome architecture, ASELSAN [BIST:ASELS] has displayed its long-standing İHTAR soft-kill system with a new configuration that has upgrades in radar and possibly jamming performance.

The new version shown at SAHA EXPO 2026 has its AURA 100-G UAV detection radar replaced with four short-range AESA radars with a range of 25+ km. While the performance in other metrics is not known, it is safe to say that the new radar arrangement will provide constant hemispherical coverage and improved tracking capabilities.

Additionally, the antenna layout for the jammer appears to be redesigned with six antennas, whereas the original İHTAR 100 had three. This might be for better frequency coverage against hopping to stay out of the jammer's envelope.

MKE has officially unveiled the ENFAL-17 Low-Altitude Air Defense Missile System for the first time at the Istanbul Expo Center.

Designed and developed by MKE engineers, the ENFAL-17 Low-Altitude Air Defense Missile System, which will undertake a critical responsibility in Türkiye’s close air defense, made its debut in Istanbul. Developed with an “Effective-Simple-Cheap” approach against ‘Shahed’ type fixed-wing aerial vehicles, UAVs, cruise missiles, and helicopters, the ENFAL-17 is approximately 8 times more cost-effective than its counterparts. The system features a 70 mm diameter and a length of approximately 2 meters.

The ENFAL-17, which can also be integrated into the MKE TOLGA Close-In Weapon System (CIWS), possesses an effective altitude of 30,000 feet and operates on solid fuel. The missile locks onto targets detected by radar through its electro-optical guidance feature. After being launched with a one-way data link, it can track the target in the air via remote access and guidance.

The system pairs electronic disruption with laser destruction as Ankara builds a cheaper response to drones, loitering munitions and saturation attacks

By Bosphorus News Defense Desk

Türkiye is adding Roketsan's ALKA laser weapon system to its Steel Dome air defense shield, placing directed energy inside the country's growing response to drones, loitering munitions and low-cost aerial threats.

Roketsan Weapons Systems and Integration Director Koray Dayanç told Anadolu Agency that ALKA is being positioned as the laser component of Steel Dome, Türkiye's multi-layered air defense project. The system is designed to counter drones, mini and micro unmanned aerial vehicles, improvised explosive devices and other asymmetric battlefield threats.

The most important update is power. Dayanç said ALKA has been upgraded from 2.5 kilowatts to above 10 kilowatts, giving the system a stronger role against small, fast-moving targets that can strain conventional air defense networks.
